Commission meetings are held quarterly and members also serve on workgroups. In 2011 the Commission released Virginia's first Dementia State Plan, which is revised every four years to remain receptive to the needs of persons with dementia and their caregivers.  The current plan is Virginia Dementia State Plan 2024-2027
